NEW DREDGE ASSEMBLY IN PROGRESS!
Twin Lakes to Launch Wednesday, June 29th!
The Twin Lakes is set to enter the water Wednesday morning, June 29th. The builder and launch crew will start pushing her toward the water at 7:00 a.m. They estimate it will take three to four hours to move her down the ramp and into the water - that is, Twin Lakes will first hit the water sometime between 10:00 and 11:00 a.m.
Twin Lakes will be fueled, then moved to 'E' dock temporarily. When the tides are favorable later this week, Twin Lakes will be moved to the mooring just north of the bridge.
The launch ramp will reopen by Friday (time TBD). Please check the launch ramp camera from the link on our home page or call the harbor office to be sure it's clear before planning an early morning launch. Launchers who are berthed in the harbor on the "Dredge Delivery Special" are welcome to stay through the 4th of July (please haul out by July 5).
We know that some harbor users have been upset and inconvenienced by the project. The Port Commission and the entire harbor organization wishes to thank all of you for your patience and understanding during the many steps along the way - financing, contracting, building, delivery and assembly. The dredge is critical to keeping the Santa Cruz Harbor the Gateway to the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary.
