Project ScopeAn accessible walkway will be constructed starting at “A” dock on the west side of Santa Cruz Harbor, and continue past Aldo’s Restaurant, and along the west jetty out to Walton Lighthouse. The project will feature donor-sponsored public amenities, including benches, overlooks, and murals. Bronze plaques, tiles and other artistic elements will be incorporated throughout the project to acknowledge each donor with a personal message or memorial statement. FundingThis estimated $1.2 million project is funded in part by a $250,000 grant from the California Coastal Conservancy. The remainder of the project will be funded through donor sponsorship of public amenities. Santa Cruz Port District is seeking sponsorship of these donor-funded elements, and is compiling a list of interested donors. Other Donor OpportunitiesThere are numerous other donor opportunities such as benches, donor points along the west jetty pathway, plaques on the dock path wall, and marinethemed mural opportunities which include the ability to have your personal vessel depicted as part of the mural. Donations Are Tax DeductableThe Santa Cruz Port District is organized as a political subdivision of the State of California and qualifies, under Section 170(c)(1) of the Internal Revenue Code, to receive tax deductible contributions.
