G and X Dock Replacement Project
Construction and Mobilization Update – May 2026
The Port District and its contractor, Cushman Contracting Corporation (Cushman) are gearing up to commence the G and X Dock Replacement Project in the coming weeks. Cushman has begun mobilization activities in the north harbor, and those efforts will continue to ramp up as they prepare for the start of construction in early June.
Once mobilized, initial work for the project will focus on landside electrical improvements, with in-water demolition and reconstruction of X-Dock to follow in a phased approach. Upon completion of X-Dock, Cushman will begin work at G-Dock. Various areas within the north harbor will become an active construction zone, with heavy equipment, materials, and ongoing activity throughout the duration of the project. Harbor users are advised to use caution at all times while transiting these areas.
Additionally, construction activities will affect parking availability in portions of the north harbor, particularly in the vicinity of J-Dock. During this time, parking will be limited, and pedestrian access routes will be modified to ensure a safe buffer around the active construction zone. Signage and detour information will be posted to assist harbor users.
Ahead of the in-water demolition and reconstruction work, temporary slip relocations will be required for vessels berthed at X-Dock and G-Dock. All impacted slip renters will be contacted directly by the Port District with more detailed information and temporary slip assignments.
We appreciate your continued cooperation and patience as this essential work progresses.
