Port Commissioners: Mandatory Training & Filing Requirements

Annual Form 700 (Due by April 1) 

Description

Every elected official and public employee who makes or influences governmental decisions must submit a Statement of Economic Interest, also known as Form 700.

  • Filing is required within 30 days of assuming office, annually by April 1, and within 30 days of leaving office.
  • A late fine will be imposed if the statement is filed past the due date.

Submission Details

Filers are encouraged to file electronically but paper filings are still accepted.

  • Visit the County’s e-Filing page via the link above.
Biennial Ethics Training (AB 1234 Compliance) 

Description

AB 1234 requires local officials and board members who file Form 700 to complete two hours of ethics training every two years to promote ethical governance. Topics include personal financial gain, public resource use, and open government principles.

Training Details

  • Due: Every two years
  • Format: On-demand webinar
  • Duration 2-hour required training

Instructions

  • Log in to your CSDA account at www.csda.net
  • Select “Learn” from the main menu
  • Go to “On Demand Webinars”
  • Scroll down to find the "Ethics Training 1234" course, and select the title
  • Select “Add to Cart” and “Proceed to Checkout”
  • Select “Submit Order”
  • The course will be ready in roughly 30 minutes. You will receive an email confirmation and information on how to access the course  (Read More)

Biennial Sexual Harassment Prevention Training 

Description

California law mandates biennial sexual harassment and abusive conduct prevention training for all public officials.

Training Details

  • Due: Every two years
  • Format: Online course
  • Duration: Supervisory, 2-hour required training 

Instructions

  1.  Access the training here: calcivilrights.ca.gov
  2.  Select the Supervisory, 2-hour course
  3.  Upon completion, email your certificate to scpd@santacruzharbor.org.
